ReX: REGIONAL EXPRESS TRANSIT NETWORK

ReX System Ma
ReX Website

ReX--the Bay Area Regional Express Transit Network--was developed at the request of the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) to demonstrate how freeway tolled express lanes, supplemented by dedicated transit infrastructure, could be used to create an effective and affordable regional transit network knitting together the Bay Area's myriad destinations and transit systems into a coherent and integrated whole.

INTEGRATED GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE PLANNING

San Diego Connected

San Diego Connected is a $2.2 billion proposal for integrated green infrastructure that would connect the region's densest residential zones with the new $2.2 billion Mid-Coast Light Rail line, but also provide the backbone of a truly effective set of transit and bicycle links connecting these zones with each other.

REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION COMMISSION OF SOUTHERN NEVADA - LONG RANGE TRANSIT PLAN

RTC Long-Range Strategy Presentation

This strategy presentation explains how the innovative long-range transit plan for the Las Vegas region evolved out of a re-framing of the transportation problem. By setting up teams within the RTC to explore data and solutions, the plan grew from the many ideas that had been often raised but previously not integrated into a coherent vision. The plan was formally adopted and incorporated into their Regional Transportation Plan.

THE QUICKWAY PROPOSAL

The Quickway Proposal is an alternative rapid transit plan for the San Diego region developed for a group of stakeholders who wanted to see a better plan adopted for the region. It is built on Global Best Practices and extensive market research into the drivers of modal choice. Compared to the existing plan, it is projected to cost less to build and operate yet attract many more riders.
